Manab Kallyan Parishad (MKP) established in 1984 by a group of dedicated local development activists and social workers in the Thakurgaon district of northern Bangladesh, is a pioneering organization committed to social progress and community development. MKP is registered with the Department of Social Services and the NGO Affairs Bureau. MKP has a long-standing commitment to community development and social justice. Currently, MKP operates in five northern districts of Bangladesh—Rangpur, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Thakurgaon, and Panchagarh—focused on promoting social justice and empowerment of the marginalized communities. Since its inception, MKP has been a steadfast advocate for the empowerment of disadvantaged communities through a rights-based approach. MKP has been involved in the field of disadvantage peoples’ development. Different issues of women, children, human rights, agriculture, environment and alternative legal practices in gender and good governance perspective are the main areas that MKP has been involved. MKP is committed to institutionalize gender concept and good governance among development partners, like-minded NGO, govt. offices and group through advocacy, campaign and networking approach. MKP’s core focus areas include women's and children's rights, human rights and good governance, sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation, and alternative legal practices. Gender equity is a central, cross-cutting theme in all MKP's development initiatives. To promote women's empowerment and gender mainstreaming, MKP actively engages in advocacy, campaigns, and networking, fostering alliances with civil society organizations and like-minded NGOs. MKP remains steadfast in its commitment to transparency and accountability to its stakeholders. The organization takes full responsibility for its actions and ensures accountability to the communities and individuals it serves.
